Review by Sue Ellen
Talk about an amazing debut novel for this author. I love the fact that she instantly lets her readers understand about her writing techniques, so we are not confused at some of the way it is written. The cover is gorgeous and perfect for the story line! The plot and each of the characters were well thought and exceptionally well written, your able to see that the author is passionate. Carly Jo was brought up in her fathers coal empire to get everything she wants. But when she falls for Colton who in her fathers eyes wouldn’t be in the same social standing everything starts to fall apart. My heart broken for Carly JO and the way she was treated by those she loved and trusted, but with everything she went through she became a strong and independent woman. Yet, when she is brought back to face her past how will she react and will the secrets of not only her but those around her undue everything that she has kept hidden. The author has turned this book into a treasure map because after every X there is a hidden secret waiting to be revealed, some will break people’s hearts while others may bring family together! The scenes in this novel between Carly Jo and Colton at times had me crying, while other times I was laughing. The ending, makes me want so much more from this author!!! It is definitely a romantic suspense waiting for readers to open up, beware because there are twists! I will be re-reading this one in the future and look forward from others from this author.
